Used attributively and in the possessive to denote a reaction which Skraup discovered ( Sitzungsber. der K. Akad. der Wissensch. (Math.-Nat. Classe) (1880) 81 ii. 593), in which a quinoline is synthesized by heating a primary aromatic amine with glycerol, sulphuric acid, and an oxidizing agent.
