A chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, usually forming part of a larger church or cathedral and typically situated to the east of the high altar in a cathedral or at the east end of one or other chancel aisle in a smaller church. Cf. Our Lady chapel n. at Our Lady n. Compounds 1.
