Etymology: < un- prefix2 + nose v.1, in sense 1 after Middle French or French †enaser (a1603, in the passage translated in quot. 1603, or earlier in this sense; late 12th cent. in Old French in sense ‘to remove (a person's nose)’; French énaser , now rare). Compare slightly earlier unnosed adj.
