Etymology: < suicide n.1 + squeeze n.
1. Bridge. A situation in which a defender plays a card which forces his or her own partner to discard a potentially winning card; a tactic by which a declarer creates such a situation. Cf. squeeze n. 1f.Also called cannibal squeeze; the term suicide squeeze is sometimes considered a misnomer (see e.g. quot. 1964).

Compounds 3), in which the runner at third base waits for the batter to bunt the ball successfully before starting to run for home plate.
