Origin: Apparently a borrowing from French. Etymon: French razet.
Etymology: Apparently < French razet (apparently not recorded in dictionaries of French, but compare razeteur n.) < Occitan raset (a1872), use as noun of raset (adjective) nearly touching < ras touching, level (past participle of raire to scrape, smooth < classical Latin rādere to scrape, shave: see raze v.) + -et -et suffix1. Compare razeteur n.
Bullfighting. rare.
In southern France: a contest in which competitors attempt to snatch a rosette from between a bull's horns.
