Origin: A borrowing from Tagalog. Etymon: Tagalog lolo.
Etymology: < Tagalog lolo grandfather, probably (by reduplication of the final syllable) < Spanish abuelo grandfather (see abuelo n.). Compare lola n.
Philippine English.
One's grandfather. Also used as a respectful title or form of address for an elderly man. Cf. lola n.
