Etymology: < kiss n. or kiss v. + -o- + gram n.4
A novelty telegram or greetings message sent through a commercial agency, which is delivered (usually by a provocatively-dressed young woman) with a kiss, esp. to amuse or embarrass the recipient.A ‘Kissogram Post Card’ (Valentine Series) was available in the 1900s. The sender could leave the imprint of a kiss on the face of the card, above a sentimental verse (‘..But it's you that I'd rather be “kissing”.’).
