Chiefly Scottish. Now rare (archaic in later use).
That has been cut or chopped in a rough or irregular manner. Cf. haggled adj., hacked adj. 1a.In quot. 1795 apparently: spec. (of a flint for a flintlock pistol) that has been knapped.In quot. 1958 in self-consciously archaic use.
