Etymology: < modern Latin Glio-cladium, name of a genus of fungi ( < Greek γλία glue + κλάδος shoot, branch) + toxin n.
Biochemistry.
An indole derivative, C13H14N2O4S2, which has antibiotic activity against many fungi and bacteria and is produced by the growth of some fungi, esp. various species of Penicillium and Aspergillus.
