Etymology: Either < Middle French geometricien (a1365; French †géométricien ; < geometrique geometric adj. + -ien -ian suffix), or < classical Latin geōmetricus geometric adj. + -ian suffix. Compare earlier geometer n., geometrer n., geometrian n.
