释义 | anchitheriumn. Palaeontology. A small extinct three-toed horse of the genus Anchitherium, known from widely distributed fossil remains of the Miocene period. Also (in form Anchitherium): the genus itself. ΚΠ 1848 R. Owen in Q. Jrnl. Geol. Soc. 4 i. 29 Nothing, therefore, can be inferred as to the true dental formula of the Palæotherium Aurelianense, or of its claims to the generic appellation of Anchitherium. 1881 J.
