penumbral, a.|pɪˈnʌmbrəl| [f. prec. + -al1.] Of, pertaining to, of the nature of, or characterized by a penumbra or partial shadow. Also fig. penumbral eclipse, a lunar eclipse in which only the penumbra falls on the moon's disk.
