madrigalism, n. Mus.|ˈmædrɪgəlɪz(ə)m| [f. madrigal n. + -ism 3. Cf. F. madrigalisme.] A musical feature characteristic of a madrigal, spec. a word or phrase set to music in a way which vividly illustrates its literal meaning.
