guanosine Chem.|ˈgwɑːnəsiːn| Formerly also -in. [ad. G. guanosin (Levene & Jacobs 1909, in Ber. d. Deut. Chem. Ges. XLII. 2470), f. guanine, by insertion of -ose2.] A nucleoside, C10H13N5O5, which yields guanine and ribose on hydrolysis and is itself a hydrolysis product of ribonucleic acid.
