MAPK12
MAPK12
A gene on chromosome 22q13.33 that encodes a member of the MAP kinase family, which integrate multiple biochemical signals and are involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, transcription, regulation and development. MAPK12 is activated by environmental stress and pro-inflammatory cytokines, in turn phosphorylating downstreamtargets. It plays a role in myoblast differentiation and downregulates cyclin D1 in response to hypoxia.
