Khroma
Khroma
a river in the northeastern part of the Yakut ASSR. The Khroma measures 685 km in length and drains an area of 19,700 sq km. It originates at the confluence of the Temteken and Nemalak-Arangas rivers, which flow from the Polousnyi Ridge. The Khroma flows through the Iana-Indigirka Lowland and empties into Khroma Bay of the East Siberian Sea. The river is fed by snow and rain. It freezes in late September, and the ice breaks up in late May; it freezes through in winter. Its chief left tributary is the Uriung-Ulakh.
