Etymology: < French cabocher (in same sense) implied in participle adjective caboché caboched adj., and used (as cabacher ) by Palsgrave, < caboche = Italian capocchia augmentative and pejorative of capo head. The form cabage is identified with cabbage v.1, which is ultimately the same word.
? Obsolete.
transitive. To cut off the head of (a deer) close behind the horns.
