Etymology: < the name of Eeyore, the determinedly pessimistic donkey in A. A. Milne Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and later books and films (see Eeyore n.) + -ish suffix1.
Chiefly British.
Resembling the Winnie-the-Pooh character Eeyore; pessimistic, gloomy, habitually disconsolate.
