Origin: Probably formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: throne v., -ed suffix1; throne n., -ed suffix2.
Etymology: Probably partly < throne v. + -ed suffix1, and partly < throne n. + -ed suffix2. N.E.D. (1912) also gives the pronunciation þrōu·nėd) /ˈθrəʊnɪd/ in poetic use.
1. Seated on or as if on a throne; enthroned; also figurative and in extended use. Also as the second element in compounds in which the first element indicates the location or nature of the throne, as heaven-throned, silver-throned, etc.
