Etymology: Apparently < story n. + -al suffix1 (compare -ial suffix), although compare historial adj. and forms in the Romance languages cited at that entry. Compare also post-classical Latin storialis (4th cent.; apparently rare).
Now rare (chiefly historical in later use).
Of, relating to, of the nature of, or concerned with history; historical.
