Compare Middle French, French sadducéen (end of the 13th cent. in Old French as saduceien; also saducéen).Compare Old English Saducēisc, adjective and noun ( < post-classical Latin Sadducaeus + -ish suffix1), which survives into early Middle English (in Ormulum) as Saducewisshe, adjective.
