Origin: A borrowing from Italian. Etymons: Italian romagnola, romagnolo.
Etymology: In sense 1 < Italian romagnola (1842 or earlier), feminine form corresponding to romagnolo Romagnol n. In sense 2 probably < Italian romagnolo, adjective (1884 or earlier designating a breed of cattle, in la razza romagnola ), specific use of romagnolo Romagnol adj.; use as noun is apparently not recorded in Italian.
