Origin: A borrowing from Spanish. Etymon: Spanish revolera.
Etymology: < Spanish revolera (1927) < revolar to fly around, fly about (1527; later also ‘to fly in circles’ (1803 or earlier); compare also the frequentative formation revolear in the same senses (1574); < classical Latin revolāre to fly back: see revolant adj.) + -era , feminine of -ero -eer suffix1.
Bullfighting.
A larga (larga n.) or pass which ends with the torero whirling the cape above his or her head.
