单词 | pre-concept |
释义 | † pre-conceptn. Psychology. Obsolete. G. J. Romanes's name for: a mental representation intermediate between a percept and a concept (see quot. 1888). Cf. recept n.2 ΚΠ 1888 G. J. Romanes Mental Evol. A pre-concept, therefore, is that kind of higher recept which is not to be met with in any brute; but which occurs in the human being after surpassing the brute and before attaining self-consciousness. 1896 Nat. Sci. Dec. 382 From this he argues that there is a logic of recepts in animals, and probably also a logic of preconcepts.
