Etymology: < classical Latin plēnilūnium plenilunium n.; compare lune , variant of luna n. Compare Spanish plenilunio (a1428 or earlier), Italian plenilunio (a1314 or earlier).
Chiefly poetic.
A full moon; the time of a full moon. Also in figurative context.
