1. With the and capital initial. Originally: the London Pavilion, a celebrated music hall and theatre (now historical). In later use: any of various other performance and entertainment venues (cf. pavilion n. 3).A theatre first opened on the site of the London Pavilion in 1828. It became a cinema in 1934 and was closed for demolition in 1981.
