Compare scientific Latin ochro- (formations in which are found from at least the 18th cent., in e.g. ochroleucus , ochroleuca : see ochroleucous adj. ), French ochro- (formations in which are found from at least the 19th cent., in e.g. ochropyre : see ochropyra n. ).Attested in a small number of English formations from the early 19th cent. (see below).
