Etymology: < ob- prefix 2 + ligulate adj. N.E.D. (1902) gives the pronunciation as (ǫbli·giŭlĕt) /ɒˈblɪɡjʊlət/.
Botany. Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
Designating a ligulate floret of a flower of the family Asteraceae ( Compositae) in which there is a small ligule on the inner side.
