Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French moulage.
Etymology: < French moulage act of moulding something (1765; earlier in sense ‘moulded tiles’ (1680)), action of taking an impression (of something) in order to create a mould (1845), reproduction made by taking an impression (1865) < mouler mould v.1 + -age -age suffix.
A cast or impression, esp. of a person or a part of the body; the process of making a cast or taking an impression; the material used for this.
