Etymology: < ministrate v. + -ive suffix. Compare post-classical Latin ministrativus that serves or helps (9th cent.; from 13th cent. in British sources). N.E.D. (1906) gives the pronunciation as (mi·nistreitiv) /ˈmɪnɪstreɪtɪv/.
Obsolete.
Relating to or of the nature of ministration; giving service or assistance.
