Etymology: < German Marrubiin (A. Kromayer 1861, in Arch. der Pharm. 158 257) < classical Latin marrubium Marrubium n. + German -in -in suffix1. Compare French marrubiine (1862).
Chemistry.
A diterpenoid lactone, C20H28O4, that occurs in the plant white horehound, Marrubium vulgare.
