Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French mancenille.
Etymology: < French mancenille (1617; attested in Middle French in irregular form mancaville 1527) < Spanish manzanillo manchineel tree, also tree bearing manzanilla olives < manzanilla small apple, etc. (see manzanilla n.).
