Etymology: < globe n. + -ous suffix, after Middle French, French globeux (c1314 in Old French) or its etymon classical Latin globōsus globose adj. Compare Catalan globós (15th cent.), Spanish globoso (late 15th cent.), Portuguese globoso (a1542), Italian globoso (1499). Compare earlier globose adj.
