Etymology: < classical Latin dēlibrāt-, past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of dēlibrāre to take off the bark < dē- de- prefix + libr- , liber bark (see liber n.1).
Obsolete. rare.
transitive. To remove the bark from (a tree).Apparently only in dictionaries.
