Etymology: < scientific Latin agynarius (see agynary adj.) + -ous suffix. Compare agynous adj. and earlier agynary adj. N.E.D. (1884) gives the pronunciation as (ædʒinēə·riəs) /ædʒɪˈnɛərɪəs/.
Botany. Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
