chondrodite Min.|ˈkɒndrədaɪt| [f. Gr. χονδρώδ-ης granular (f. χόνδρος groat, grain, granule) + -ite.] A silicate of magnesium containing a little fluorine. It is usually of a yellowish or brownish red colour, and often occurs in imbedded grains.
