piperonyl Chem.|pɪˈpɛrənaɪl| [f. prec. + -yl.] Used to form the names of certain substituted derivatives of piperonal, as piperonyl butoxide, a yellow oily liquid, C19H30O5, which is used in insecticides as a synergist for pyrethrins.
