œstrone Biochem.|ˈiːs-, ˈɛstrəʊn| Also (U.S.) estr-. [f. œstrane + -one.] An œstrogenic hormone, C18H22O2, obtained from the urine of pregnant women and mares with actions and uses similar to those of œstradiol.
