One who dives or swims underwater without a full diving suit or a fixed line to the surface. Hence skin-diving vbl. n. and ppl. a.; [as back-formation] skin-dive v. intr., to dive or swim underwater as a skin-diver; also as n., an act or instance of skin-diving.
