kaleidophone|kəˈlaɪdəʊfəʊn| [f. as next + Gr. ϕωνή sound.] An instrument (invented by Prof. Wheatstone) for exhibiting the phenomena of sound-waves, by means of a vibrating rod or plate having a reflector at the end.
