jarool|dʒəˈruːl| Also jarul. [Hind., a. Bengali jarūl.] A deciduous tree, Lagerstrœmia speciosa, of the family Lythraceæ, which is native to tropical Asia and bears large panicles of purple flowers; also, the wood of this tree.
