1941in Index Medicus XXIX. 190/2. 1956 Nature 29 Sept. 695/1 Since differences in the haptoglobins of individuals determine their inherited serum groups, we suggest that the system comprising these groups be known as the ‘haptoglobin system’. 1961Lancet 23 Sept. 722/1 Normal sera contain three types of haptoglobins, which are now known to occur in three genetically controlled combinations. 1966E. S. West et al. Textbk. Biochem. (ed. 4) xv. 573 Only the haptoglobins of types 1–1 and 2–2 have been shown to be homogeneous compounds... Type 2–1 haptoglobin has been found to be heterogeneous by ultracentrifugation. |
