Trager–Smith Linguistics.|ˈtreɪgə ˈsmɪθ| The names of George L. Trager (b. 1906) and Henry L. Smith (b. 1913), American linguists, co-authors of An Outline of English Structure (1951); used attrib. with reference to the method of linguistic analysis and phonemic transcription exemplified in this monograph.
