terebic, a. Chem.|təˈrɛbɪk| [f. terebinth) + -ic.] Of, belonging to, or derived from turpentine, as in terebic acid, C7H10O4, a dibasic acid, a product of the action of nitric acid on turpentine-oil, also called turpentinic, terebenic, and terebilic acid. So terebic ether, an acid ether of terebic acid. Hence ˈterebate, a salt of terebic acid.
