deodorant, n.|diːˈəʊdərənt| [Formed as if from a L. *deodōrānt-em, pr. pple. of *deodōrāre, f. odōr-em smell, odour, on analogy of dēcolōrāre: see de- I. 6. (The long ō is taken over from odour: cf. next.)] A substance or preparation that destroys the odour of fetid effluvia, etc.; a deodorizer.
