Technical Condition of a Market

In a given market, activities that affect the supply or demand for a security. For example, if there are equal numbers of buyers and sellers of a security, a number of factors could drive the price down (creating more buyers) or drive it up (creating more sellers). An increase in buyers results in a greater demand for the security; equally, an increase in sellers results in a greater supply. Examples of activities that may change the technical condition of a market include stop loss orders, floating supply, and short interests.
