释义 | Bernard SachsSachs, (Barney) Bernard(1858–1944) neurologist; born in Baltimore, Md. He did his medical studies in Europe (where he adopted the name Bernard), then settled in New York City where he led the development of organic neurology, at the New York Polyclinic Hospital (1885–1905), as editor of the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease (1886–1911), on the faculty of Columbia's medical school, as consulting neurologist at Mount Sinai Hospital, and as president of the American Neurological Association (1894, 1932). He specialized in children's neurological diseases, such as Tay-Sachs, wrote Nervous Diseases of Children (1895), and directed the division of child neurology at New York Neurological Institute (1932–42). |
