(sĕ-nē'sē-ō'sis), Liver degeneration and necrosis caused by ingestion of plants of the genus Senecio, such as ragwort and groundsel; similar hepatotoxic properties have been observed after ingestion of some kinds of Crotalaria and Heliotropium.
