Krushanov, Andrei Ivanovich

 

Born June 1, 1921, in the village of Chef, in present-day Bogotol Raion, in Krasnoiarsk Krai. Soviet historian. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1970). Member of the CPSU (1944).

Krushanov graduated from the department of history of the Vladivostok Pedagogical Institute (1949). He is a student of the 19th- and 20th-century history of the Far East. In 1958 he became head of the department of history, archaeology, and ethnography of the peoples of the Far East at the Far Eastern Branch of the Siberian Division of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and is deputy chairman of the Far Eastern Scientific Center of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. He has received two orders and a number of medals.
