long-range oblique photography (LOROP)

A photographic technique in which photographs of the enemy area are taken at long ranges, normally from one's own side of the border. The aircraft flies at heights of 20,000 to 30,000 ft (6–9 km) and takes photographs of targets located 30 to 60 miles (50–100 km) away.
